A partial day at the beach was a must.
I hadn’t been to the beach in a while…this darn school things got in the way. Luckily, I found a way to get down to the beach, even for a couple of hours. I journeyed down to Alex’s Head and met Mari and Maja, who had been down there all day. There were only a few hours of daylight left but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the sunset.
They taught me some (more) Norwegian words and phrases, most of which I’ve forgotten because I don’t practice it enough. Also, Norwegian is hard! I’m challenging myself to learn for when I do go to Norway to visit the two of them. I whipped out my camera and captured some pretty good footage (new video coming soon…), amidst Mari’s perpetual dabbing.
And Maja started vlogging…oh yay…ANYWAYS the next day was more of the same. Beach day, of course. I was going to teach the two of them how to surf, but unfortunately, the break wasn’t pleasant at all. I was out there for 3 or 4 hours but I caught next to nothing. We called it an early day, as they needed to pick up a few things at the mall and I went to the Canon store to buy a camera strap…only to find out it was closed!
When we all got back to the apartments, we made pizza from scratch. I can’t recall ever making dough from scratch, but it was quite some work! Maja told me that I had to mix up the dough because I was the only one that didn’t go to the gym…which prompted me to get a gym membership ASAP! Needless to say, the pizza was outstanding. And then we started planning our trip for New Zealand!! We’re SO excited! The amazing part is that we’re from totally different countries, and met at a completely different part of the world. And here we are!
Traveling results in excellent adventures and even better friends. Here’s to the next!
